General Election Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy’ari said that the fifth or final debate for the 2024 presidential election would still be attended by spectators. Hasyim said that a team of 75 candidate pairs would still attend the event.

“The debate format, including the organizers, is fixed,” said Hasyim after inaugurating KPPS members simultaneously at the Merlynn Park Hotel Jakarta, Thursday (25/1/2024).

He said the candidate pairs’ teams would still be present at the debate. The number regulated is 75 people.

“There is still a team of 75 candidate pairs, so that remains the case,” said Hasyim.

The KPU previously said it would evaluate the implementation of the fourth debate. The meeting was held with the candidate pair teams (paslon).

“The evaluation meeting will be held later, as was the case in the first, second and third campaigns, there will be an evaluation meeting between the KPU and the candidate team,” said Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy’ari to journalists at the KPU Office, Menteng, Jakarta Center, Monday (22/1/2023).

The KPU will ask for criticism and suggestions from the candidate team. This is to be used as material for improvement in the fifth debate.

“I will convey the notes, input, criticism, suggestions from each candidate team to the KPU, and we will formulate important notes for what will be next for the fifth or final campaign, what suggestions for improvements we will make ,” he continued.
